Sale-A-Bration Sneak Peak

Hi Everyone,

Well it's another windy and stormy day in the Pacific Northwest. This makes it the third Tuesday in a row with storms. Luckily we didn't lose power today, so I was able to play and create. Today I wanted to give you a little sneak peak at one of my favorite free products from the upcoming Sale-A-Bration catalog by Stampin' Up! Everything in this catalog is not for sale. You can earn any of the products with a qualifying $50.00 from the annual or occasions catalogs. The stamp set I am featuring today is called Flowering Fields. There are 7 flower stamps and a butterfly. There is also a Designer Series paper called Wildflower Fields that coordinates well.

It's wonderful how different your projects can be by simply changing the color pallet. The first card uses Lost Lagoon as the base. In the Wildflower Fields DSP colors include Lost Lagoon, Hello Honey, Blackberry Bliss, Old Olive, and Calipso Coral. My technique for color included using the classic stamp pad and blender pens to give a water colored look.

Be sure to check out the Stampin' Up! Store beginning on December 10th. Stampin' Up! is putting more items in as a Year-End Clearance at 60% off through January 4th (while supplies last). Remember that I have a mystery hostess open party that you can get in on. With every $25.00 order you will be put in the drawing to be mystery hostess. When you place your order, put in Hostess Code #ZC9EFU6C. You will be in for a chance to win as mystery hostess as well as be in for a drawing for a free Sale-A-Bration stamp set and DSP (Flowering Fields and Wildflower Fields DSP).

Check out my website for updated specialty classes and specials for January-March. I have some great specials that will help you earn Sale-A-Bration products. Remember that all of my specialty classes can be "On the Go" for those of you not local. Simply contact me for details.

Paper Ornaments using DSP

Hi Everyone,

As promised I created a video to go with my Designer Series Paper Ornaments. They use 1 piece of DSP. These ornaments are quite large, so I think I will hang them at work for some decorations. I want to try to cut the size in half and see what the ornaments look like then. The magazine that gave me the inspiration is the Better Homes and Gardens Holiday Catalog. I think I picked it up at Safeway. If you like my video be sure to comment and share with your friends.

The Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog has a little under a month left before many of the products become unavailable. Be sure to check the retiring list before you miss out on must have products. Place a minimum $25.00 order by December 13th and you will be put in for mystery hostess. If your name is pulled, you receive the hostess benefits from the party. I will also reward a lucky person with a Sale-a-Bration stamp set from the orders, so you have 2 ways to win. Use Hostess Code #ZC9EFU6C. You don't have to place an order to qualify as a chance to win a Sale-a-Bration stamp set and paper. Simply comment and share my blog. I will add you for a chance being drawn on December 25th. Good luck! Visit; http://www.stampinup.com/ECWeb/default.aspx

December Blog Hop Friends

It's another wonderful month and another blog hop with Blog Hop Friends. Tis the season for the holidays. I simply hope you enjoy my creations. For my specialty star project, I am working on a video and will have it posted soon. I hope you leave a comment or check out my other specials and classes. Be sure to check out the other blog hoppers. I love visiting each for the wonderful projects and ideas that are posted.

Happy Elf bearing gifts
I just loved cutting out the little gifts from the Home for Christmas Designer Series paper. trying to think of where the elf could hop, I thought why not Santa's Helper.

Frosty Scene
I just love the icy blues of winter. For some reason I am drawn to the blue colors of Christmas.

Here is my little something extra special
I was looking through a crafting magazine and found these beautiful paper star designs. I decided to try and use our DSP to see if the stars would be sturdy enough. It worked. All you need is one 12 X 12 piece of cardstock or DSP. Instructions are below.

These stars are large as you can see. If you would like smaller stars, you can cut the dimensions in 1/2. That would shrink them down by 1/2 their size.

For the star, you will need to:
1. Cut twelve 1/2 x 8 1/2-inch strips and six 1/2 x 1 1/2-inch strips from cardstock or DSP.
2. Cut six 1/2 x 7-inch strips.
3. Cut six 1/2 x 5 1/2-inch strips.

Fold six of the 1/2 x 8 1/2 strips in half to make a V shape. Arrange the V shapes so pointed ends meet in the center. Place the small V shapes between large V shapes at the ends so they create a branch at the tips. Glue the shapes together to make a six-spoke snowflake frame.

Fold the rest of the strips in half as well. Glue ends of each large folded strip inside a large V shape to form a teardrop. Glue ends of medium folded strips to large teardrops. Glue ends of small folded strips inside medium teardrops. Let dry and embellish. I hope to have a video tutorial soon. Click to see video tutorial.

Be sure to continue on to the other Blogging Friends to see their wonderful creations.
