Stampin' Saturday with Nuts About Squirrels - Gotta Love Those Squirrels!

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to my blog. I'm so ready for all the fall colors. For me in the Pacific Northwest in Washington State, it is taking a bit of time for the colors to change on the trees. I think next week and on the big change will be here.

I had to create with the Nuts about Squirrels Stamp set by Stampin' Up! These squirrels are so cute with their bushy tails. I watch a squirrel that is kind of a resident in our yard. He runs along the fence line and then hurls himsef to the tree trunk that is quite a ways from the fence. He is really cute. He likes to eat the blackberry leaves. Yes we have lots of natural blackberry bushes where we live. Yum!

I wanted to feature both squirrels, so I decided to make a little Peek-a-Boo flap on the front of the card. You wouldn't normally expect this, but it's those darn cute squirrels, right? The dimensions for the Crushed Curry piece is 2 1/2 X 3 1/8". The Very Vanilla Peek-A-Boo flap is
6 1/4" X 2 3/8" scored at 3 1/8".

So this squirrel is so cute! It has such a sneaky face. One of the things I really like about this card is the embossed panel on a layer that I added to the base of the card. It is the Leaf Fall 3D Embossing folder. It is such a textured piece to give the card more interest.

Designer Series Paper (DSP) also give a lot of texture and richness to your projects. I let the DSP colors determine my cardstock and ink colors. It all coordinates so well. I used the Rings of Love DSP from Sale-A-Bration. It is no longer available, but I think the Celebrate Everything 12" x 12" DSP is awesome! Check it out!

Remember to never leave the inside of your cards naked. The place we put our hearfelt messages should be special too. I love the leaf stamp with it's vein companion stamp. So cute!

I hope you liked my card today and are inspired to create your own fall projects. If you want more details on my card, you can access my Saturday Stamping video.

Thanks again for stopping to check out my blog today. I hope you follow and come back again for tips and ideas for stamping and papercrafting. Check out my online store and calendar of events for classes and specials.

It's a Gome Palooza!

Hi Everyone,

If you were at my Facbook Live on Wednesday evening, you got so treated to 4 awesome projects featurring the Kindest Gnome Suite of products by Stampin' Up! Truth be told, I'm a bit obsessed with gnomes.
I hope you enjoy these projects. Be sure to comment and let me know which card you liked best.

Inspired by a "short cut" layout from Marissa

If you have followed my for awhile, you know that my favorite season is fall, especially Halloween. This project that I designed, just made me so happy. I really like the Rings of Love DSP from Sale-A-Bration. I wish it was still available. There are get designs like this tree branch background.

I combined the Scary Cute stamp set and coordinating dies for such fun bats and sentiments.

Have you seen the Glitter Washi Tape package? OMG! These strips are awesome and perfect for all your fall projects.

Well we jumped from Halloween right to the holidays with this super cute card. Funny story, but I couldn't figure out what the small rounded dies were. I used them to give the gnome some gloves. Well I finally realized that these were mushroom cap dies to make mushrooms (LOL).

I actually like the "mushroom caps" as mittens for the gnome. The other part of this card that I really like is the embossed pines on the label. The Wintery 3D embossing folder pair is so nice!

Insiped by Carol Norby

This is a super fun and easy project! It is a standing scene and can be created for any season or occasion. I decided to use the Kindest Gnomes DSP for everything on this card.

Here are the supplies for this project. I had many requests from my FB live session. You can watch the replay on my YouTube channel.

Kindest Gnomes Stand up Scene Supplies:

1- 6" x 6" Balmy Blue CS, scored at 3 1/2"
1- 7" x 1 1/2 Balmy Blue CS, scored at 1/2", 3 1/2", 6 1/2" (DSP layer- 6" x 1 1/2")
1- 5" x 2 1/2" Balmy Blue CS, scored at 1/2", 2 1/2", 4 1/2" (DSP layer-4" x 2 1/2")

Watch my video for detals. You can change out the DSP layers for different things like snow or grass. How about some chickens and a fence? That would be fun. Oh I know, do one with the Birthday Piggy.

5 Must Have Colors of Fall for your Stamping Supplies!

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to my post today. I have been crafting a lot of fall projects lately. I realized that I am gravitating to a group of colors over and over. These are the 5 Must have colors of fall when cardmaking.

The card I created uses the Soft Seedlings Stamp set by Stampin' Up! In fall, I think about the yellows, organges, greens and brown. I used several of these colors for my project. The base of the card is Soft Suede. This is such a rich color and is perfect for fall.

To get the different colors on the leaves, I first inked up the image with Crushed Curry. Then I "kissed" the image with Cajun Craze and Mossy Meadow. Then I stamped the image on the cardstock. What I really like is that each leaf looks unique. Okay, now you know 4 of the must have fall colors. Soft Suede, Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze, and Mossy Meadow.

I used the same technique for the seedling. The splatter comes from Perched in a Tree Stamp set. I stamped off before stamping onto the cardstock.

When it comes to your projects, don't forget about the embellishments. You can find coordinating ribbons and gems to make your card pop. I suggest any of the metalic brused gems or the Mossy Meadow Braided trim that is in the Clearance Rack. I think any of the natural ribbons would look great as well.

Well here it is. These are the 5 must have colors for fall stamping. I didn't use Crumb Cake on this project, but it is one of my favorites. Sometimes you want a softer brown and it's perfect. Now these 5 colors can take your through November as well as into the holidays. Then you can keep using these colors for more masculine and nature projects.

I hope you liked my project today and my tips for some great fall colors. You can check out my video for that "kissing" technique too. Thanks for stopping in. You can get these colors from my online store. Take advantage of the Clearance Rack too. Read on for my current promotion.

Fall Leaves, Trees, & Gnomes? You Bet!

Hi Everyone,

I hope your weekend is going well. We are in with so much smoke from fires and wind. It is amazing to think how much the wind carries to other places. Fall is definately on my mind. September always brings a bit of excitement to me. I love trees, leaves, and the fall colors.

I had so much fun creating this card for my Saturday Stampin' time. I recently got the Perched in the Tree bundle and just love the Aspen Tree Dies! I really like how the die-cut leaves have the embossed veins, so they look so good! We can't forget the Kindest Gnomes Bundle either. These gnomes are so cute! I love the whole suite of products.

Remember to make the inside of your card as special as the outside. I like to mimic the layers on the outside for the inside. You can also use your left over cut pieces as accents inside your card.

You can get all the details for this project from my YouTube video. You can also see the supply list below. Thanks for stopping in. I hope you take advantage of the Stampin' Up! current promotions.

3 Cards with Rustic Harvest Suite + September Giveaways

 Hi Everyone,

Welcome to my blog today. I am sharing projects that I created from my Facebook Live session on Wednesday evenings at 6:000 pm (PT). I just can't seem to get enough of the Rustic Harvest Suite! I especially love the Rustic Harvest 12" x 12" Designer series paper.

All the projects created really focused on the Rustic Harvest DSP and the Rustic Pumpkin Dies. For this first card, I also used the beautiful Falling Leaves 3-D Embossing folder.

Pumpkin, pumpkin, pumpkin! This card is so fun with all the color and texture. I die-cut the pumpkins from the DSP. I also die-cut 3 stems to add to the top of the pumpkins to give them a finished look.

This card was inspired by a sketch layout that I saw. I used Blending Brushes to add color to the leaves in the DSP. These papers are so beautiful. You can mix and match them easily.

I always try and carry the color and theme to the inside of the card. Go To Greetings was the stamp set that I used for the cards. You can see more details for these cards in my FB Live YouTube replay.

Welcome Fall with The Paper Players Theme Challenge!

Hi Everyone,

Well it certainly has been some time since I've posted a blog. I had to take a break for some personal reasons, but I'm back for my favorite season, FALL! The Paper Players, PP607 challenge is the perfect theme for Fall, so I wanted to be sure to post the few new fall cards I just created.

I created this wonderful card using some of the scrap pieces I had left from trimming the beautiful Rustic Harvest DSP. I also had some of the Red & White Glimmer paper from the July-December Stampin' Up! mini catalog. The Rustic Pumpkin Dies did emboss the pumpkin, which I think is so cool!

The "For You" sentimest and leaf background come from the Soft Seedlings Stamp set. It is a wonderful stamp set that I can't wait to create with more.

I hope you enjoyed my card today. If you'd like to see the other two cards I created along with this card, you can watch my YouTube Video. I'd love to connect, so be sure to like, comment, and follow my blog and YouTube Channel. You can also find me at Mary's Stampin' Spot on Facebook. I do lives every Wednesday at 6:00 pm (PT).
