Weekly Wednesday with Mary's Card Rehab

Hi Everyone,

It's a berry great day today! Thanks for joining me for Mary's Card Rehab series. I take some old stamped cards that could use a rehab. Today the focus for the "Rehab" is the proportion of the elements on the card. 

The original card pictured here has some great potential, but the proportion of the banners really take focus away from the strawberries. I'm also wondering why I used the gift bag tag as a layer? Anyway, let's get to the "Rehab".

Okay, here is my new and improved berry card. When I design a "Rehab", I try to keep the layers and some color references stay the same. Today I wanted to really take care of the banner pieces. For this card, I used Garden Green, Crumb Cake, Seaside Spray, and Poppy Parade. This is reflected in the cardstock, DSP, and inks. By using color that coordinate, it helps the card be more pleasing to the eye. Adding texture to the Garden Green piece really creates a richness too.

Poppy Parade is a wonderful Color! I used Stampin' Blends and a Garden Green Stampin' Write marker. I used the Layering Circle dies and the Stitched Rectangle Dies. Don't forget how great the Triple Banner punch is. The stamp is from the retiring stamp set called Witty-cisms. This is such a great all occasion stamp set.
