Weekly Class

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for stopping in today for my Weekly Wednesday post. This week's class is all about the Barn Door Bundle. The stamp set and coordinating famelits are fantastic! I was inspired by another demonstrator, Julie Davidson, and I CASED a couple of her projects. I decided to use colors that are being discontinued and feature them in this class.

You can see how wonderful this bundle is. When you first look at the framelits, you are amazed that the one that cuts out the track really cuts it out right. Perspective is so interesting. I love that the framelits also have 2 of the roller pieces. That makes things so easy.

 The sliding door is the most popular designs with this bundle. It is so interesting and looks really complicated. Many people like to use metal washers to mount onto the rail, but I simply used a 1/4" circle punch. You will need 2 for each rail top and bottom. Then I used mini dimensionals to adhere the circles together. The dimensional is the space between the circles. Then the door is attached with another dimensional. Now the door slides back and forth. Isn't the puppy cute? I used Soft Sky and Crumb Cake (not retiring). The wreath is made with Wild Wasabi and Rose Red flowers.

Even though it looks like Christmas colors (I didn't even connect it) this card is a fun little message behind the door. Then the note can be written inside the card. I used Wild Wasabi and Rose Red again. I just love the door with the wreath. It is great that there are 2 wreath stamps for variety. The Real Red piece was embossed using the Simple Stripes Embossing folder. 

Last but not least, the last card for class is a special folds card. The barn doors are stamped and cut out. Then they are mounted onto a piece of cardstock measuring 9" X 3 3/8". Then score at 2 1/4" at each end. The card is mounted on Rose Red for the base. I did use Soft Sky and Wild Wasabi again for this project. I think the Island Indigo Ombre ribbon goes so well with this card.

Memories & More Monday

Saying Goodbye to a Couple of my Favorites

Welcome to my Memories & More Monday blog. Today I wanted to share a couple of projects I've created with two of my favorite stamp sets Butterfly Basics and Remarkable You. This is the last month to be able to purchase these two wonderful stamp sets. 

The first one I'd like to share is from Butterfly Basics. This stamp set can be used for so many occasions and has fantastic stamps for textures and accents. My favorite stamp in this set is the fern branch. I have used this combined with so many other sets and projects. This card also features retiring colors Always Artichoke and Chocolate Chip. These colors may become sold out before the month is over, so it's important to get them while you can. 

In earlier blogs, I have shared projects made with the Remarkable You Stamp set. This set has been well loved and many different stamping techniques have been featured using this set. As you can see from the picture, the flowers are large. These can make such a beautiful card without a lot of work! Stamp, ink, and paper is all you need for this beauty.

This project uses the retiring Island Indigo cardstock. It is so striking with black. I used Stampin' Blends for the flower. Using the Color Lifter really helped to highlight parts of the flowers. To get the speckled look, I used the Island Indigo stamp pad and Aqua Painter to splatter onto the card front.

Blogging Friends Fun Folds Hop

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to the first of May and the Blogging Friends Blog Hop. Many demonstrators get together each month to share what we love with stamping. This month we wanted to spend some time sharing "Fun Fold" cards. These are very popular and are fun to create. Take a look around at all the Blogging Friends blogs. Comment and share too. 

My first project is quite a simple one but really gives a great affect. It is a gate card that is made with a standard 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" base card. From their, I scored each end at 2 1/16".I used the Layering Circles and Stitched Shapes Framelits for my focal point. Country Living Stamp set is what I used for the stamps. The saying came from the cute set called A Good Day out of the Occasion's Catalog. I also used the Bronze Stampin' Blend marker to color a few pearls to add more dimension.

Okay, my next project is known as a "Z-Fold", which is also quite a simple fold, but can have so many possibilities. For my birthday card, I used Night of Navy and Rose Red Cardstock. Pretty Kitty stamp set and the Balloon Bouquet Punch. This card also uses the base for a standard A2 card like my first project. With a "Z-Fold" card, you usually fold your cardstock in half and then fold that half back to meet the spine of the card. For this one, I wanted the DSP to show, so I only folded back part way.

Surprise! The balloons get stretched out and the sentiment is shown. The kitty is holding those balloons so they don't fly away. I had so much fun with this project. If you don't have the balloon punch, you need to put that on your list. You can create great projects by combining them with other sets for perfect birthdays or celebrations. Finding Inspiration Friday

Love what you Do

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to Friday and I hope you have found some inspiration during the week for whatever you do.  Last Friday I shared my first project from the The new Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog is coming out in just abut a month, but a huge and wonderful opportunity is just around the corner, beginning May 1st. As a demonstrator, I was able to pre-purchase the Love what you Do Suite and I can't tell you how absolutely beautiful it all is! What else is fantastic, is that there are great free product included in the bundle offerings. 

I was so inspired by these wonderful products, I decided to create with them. The Love what you Do Specialty Designer Series Paper is fantastic. It is a double package (24 sheets) of metallic papers which are thicker that other DSP packs. You know I love designer series paper, so of course I had to create with it. 

I used Old Olive as by base color and Basic Black as layers. Shimmery White card stock is a must with this suite because it adds that bit of shimmer. There are new Pearlized Doilies and these wonderful Artisan Pearls in multiple colors. 

For the inside, I used the splatter from the Touches of Textures Stamp set (one you must own)! Then I stamped the wonderful saying and added just a bit of the cute flower petals. I used the Pool Party Stampin' Blends to color.

Wonderful Wednesday

Weekly Class

Hi Everyone,

Welcome back to another Wonderful Wednesday Blog. I am continuing to highlight Stampin' Up! colors that are retiring. I know it is a bit sad to see some favorites go, but the new colors coming into the new Annual Catalog are wonderful and you might not even remember some of the colors retiring. 

Not only is my focus on retiring colors, but the retiring designer series papers as well. One of the really beautiful packs is the Petal Garden DSP 6" x 6" paper stack. These color combinations are fantastic! I love to mix and match and this paper makes it really easy to do so.

This project uses Sweet Sugarplum (2016-2018 In-Color) with Wild Wasabi. The flowers and leaves match these colors so well. I wanted the DSP to be the focal point for this Mother's Day card. I used the Petal Pair Embossing Folder and retiring Doilies. 

Soft Sky is such a pretty color! Similar to the first project, I wanted the DSP to be the star and the color in the background matches perfectly. I used the Touches of Textures Stamp set for the lace background and then used the Label Me Pretty set and punch for the floral Happy Birthday. A slightly larger Layering Oval framelit was mounted with some silver Metallic Thread. 

I am most excited about this card for class. I haven't used the Best Birds Stamp set yet. This is my first project with this set and framelits. This card uses Tangerine Tango Card stock and the Petal Garden DSP. This is a stand out project. The bird and branch are great. The satin ribbon and pearls are wonderful accents. The "Thank You" sentiment comes from the Petal Palette Stamp set from the Occasions Catalog.

Finding Inspiration Friday

Share What You Love Suite

As a demonstrator, I was able to pre-purchase the Love what you Do Suite and I can't tell you how absolutely beautiful it all is! What else is fantastic, is that there are great free product included in the bundle offerings. 

This suite of products from stamp sets, ribbon, paper and embellishments, there is so much to be inspired about. I decided to focus on my favorite thing, DSP. The beautiful Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series paper is a wonderful pack of 24 double sided 12" x 12" sheets that have metallic sheen throughout. 

For my project, I used a sheet of the DSP and mixed and matched to create this card using Rich Razzleberry for the base. The DSP really works well with black, so I used black as my accent color for the layers. Mint Macaroon, a returning color, is another color in the Share what you Love DSP. I used the Layering Circles Framelits too. 

A couple of embellishments that are part of the Suite are the new Artisan Pearls and Rich Razzleberry 1/4" Velvet Ribbon. I used both of these for my card. They sure add more texture and dimension to my project. 

I can't tell you how much I love the Designer Series Specialty pack! It is beautiful and full of such rich colors and patterns. I'm going to highlight my next few blogs featuring this paper because I'm so inspired by it and you will be too. Thanks for stopping in and let me know how you liked my project today.
