Simple yet Stunning Sunday #2

Hi Everyone,
Welcome to my weekly Simple yet Stunning Sunday. I want to create stunning cards without spending lots of time. My project today is all about Stampin' Up! Specialty DSP.

This card uses the Flowering Foils Specialty DSP from the Sale-A-Bration period that has recently ended. It was one of the Level 1 FREE items. You can no longer purchase it, but I have some to gift to a couple lucky stampers (more on that later).

Simple yet Stunning Sundays will always present projects that don't take too much effort with die-cut machines or fancy techniques. There are so many ways to make your project shine.

For this beautiful "Get Well" card, I used Whisper White, Petal Pink and the Flowering Foils Specialty DSP. Here are the instructions:
  1. Cut the Thick Whisper White at 4 1/4" x 11", score at 5 1/2"
  2. Cut the Petal Pink at 4" x 5 1/2"
  3. Cut the Flower design of the DSP at 3 3/4" x 5"
  4. Cut the plaid design of the DSP at 3 3/4" x 2 1/4"
  5. Using a 2" Circle Punch, punch out one circle of Whisper White CS
  6. Using the Starburst Punch, punch out of Petal Pink
  7. Stamp the sentiment from the Positive Thoughts Stamp set onto the Whisper White circle.
  8. Glue the DSP papers together
  9. Adhere the Petal Pink to the Whisper White CS base
  10. Tack some adhesive on the back of the DSP where the ribbon would go.
  11. Adhere the Petal Pink Metallic ribbon onto the back of the DSP and bring the ribbon around the front of the paper and adhere to the back.
  12. With another piece of the ribbon, tie a knot or bow around the ribbon going across the card.
  13. Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment
  14. Stamp the inside of the card
  15. Stamp off the leaf before stamping
  16. Add the Champagne Rhinestones for the finishing touch

You can check out my YouTube video for this project today. I hope you have enjoyed my card. Subscribe and share, so you don't miss out on more posts and videos.

How about FREE DSP? I have a package of the Flowering Foils DSP to give away. If you would like to win this package of paper, simply comment #SpecialtyDSProcks! in the comments below by April 29th. I will pick a random winner on April 30th.

Finding Inspiration Friday
CTS Challenge + Prize Patrol

Hi Everyone,
Welcome to Finding Inspiration Friday! It's an exciting time where I post a sketch challenge that I'm participating in, but I also put that challenge out to all of you to have a chance to win a prize! How fun!

My Birthday Bonanza card is for the CTS #368 Sketch Challenge. If you follow my blog, you know I like the sketch challenges. Today is no different. I love how the focal point is so strong on this sketch. Your eye is drawn right to the sentiment.

My card features Terracotta Tile Cardstock and ink, Crushed Curry ink and Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. I used the Layering Squares and the Birthday Bonanza Designer Series Paper and Stamp set for the cute characters.

There are a couple of cute present stamps with ribbon stamps to match. I could have also stamped the present the long way and there is another ribbon for that way too. It's a twofer. I just love it! Be sure to check out the other entries at the CTS Blog. You can get your own inspiration for my challenge.

I have my own challenge for you today as well. Using the CTS #368 sketch as your inspiration, create your own card and upload it to me or mail it to me by the deadline. If your card is chosen, you will win a package of the assorted Pom Poms FREE.

ASSORTED POMPOMS

Here are the details:
  1. Create a card using the CTS#368 sketch layout as your inspiration. This doesn't have to be birthday, it's just the layout.
  2. Upload, mail, or deliver your card to me no later than April 29th. You can contact me for my mailing address if needed.
  3. Winner will be chosen and announced on April 30th
  4. Well what are you waiting for? Get stamping! You can't win if you don't play.
Thanks again for stopping by. I hope I've inspired you to create your own inspiration from the challenge today.

Did you know that 5 bundles have come back in stock from being unorderable? That's right, the Birthday Bonanza bundle that I used today is one of them.

Weekly Wednesday
Two for one

Hi Everyone,
Thanks for joining me today. It's the middle of the week and I'm working on those weekly lessons for students. I wanted to take some time to share my projects with you today. I'm getting ready for my weekly class which is now on Facebook Live at 6:00 pm (PST) Thursday night this week. These cards are part of my "potpourri" theme.

For this card, I used the stamps from the Sweetly Swirled Stamp set. This set has so many flowers and things that you might not notice at first when you look at the stamp set. My first card is a simply stamped card. It can be created with just stamps and ink.

One thing I really like is the size of the greetings. They are large and the font is so nice! This is great for many occasions too.

This second card is still using the swirl and greeting from the Sweetly Swirled Stamp set, but I decided to use the Thoughtful Blooms Stamp set and Small Bloom punch to create a more stepped up version.

I love the tiny yellow flowers from the Thoughtful Blooms Stamp set. This was a Sale-A-Bration set, but is no longer available to purchase. Any small flowers can work.

The Sweetly Swirled Stamp set can be incorporated with many other sets. I plan to create a couple more projects using other sets at my class tonight.

Make it Monday
with the Paper Players
Color Challenge

Hi Everyone,
Thanks for joining me today. I'm so happy to have made it for today's blog post. My project today is one I created for the Paper Players Color challenge for the week.

When doing challenges, I often do the sketch ones. Today I decided to challenge myself with a color one. These soft colors are perfect for spring and well babies! I used the Wildly Happy Stamp set for my card.

I used Basic Grey as the base of my card as well as the elephants. So Saffron cardstock cut at 5 1/4" x 4" and the soft leaves from the Mosaic Mood Specialty DSP cut at 5" x 3 3/4" made my layers. The DSP is perfect for this card!

I just love the Stitched Nested Label dies. I used the largest with Seaside Spray and then the next smaller for the Whisper White. The greeting and ribbon are also Seaside Spray. I used a Blender Pen and ink refill to color the elephants.

The added strip of DSP is great for the inside of this card. It helps to carry the theme throughout. This was really fun to make today. I think I might create a couple more projects using the Wildly Happy Stamp set for my Facebook Live happening on Wednesday at 6:00 pm (PST).
