Dandelion Wishes

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to my Finding Inspiration Friday. I hope you are inspired with the world around you. Today I wanted to share what caused my inspiration. I have to say that I can't stand all the dandelions in my yard. My whole front and back yards are all pretty much dandelions. It's the only thing growing in this hot dry weather. With that, how is it that I love the Dandelion Wishes stamp set in the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog? This is such a wonderful stamp set. I recently featured this as my July Stamp of the Month. 

This card uses Poppy Parade a color that has returned this year. I layered it with So Saffron with a strip of Garden Impressions DSP. That added strip gives the card more interest. The green in it also works with the Artisan Pearls.

For my second card, I paired Fresh Fig with Crushed Curry. The Berry Burst ribbon goes really well too. The silver edge goes great with the Rhinestones in the center of the Dandelions. 

I was mowing the lawn earlier and wanted to get a picture of my cat, who was sleeping in the middle of the lawn hidden in the dandelions, but when I ran in to get my camera, she got up and followed me. So I missed out on a great picture. 

As you can see, it's very difficult to not like this stamp set. The sayings are wonderful. I really like the font used for them. I wanted to share a couple other projects that I have from other demonstrators who also were inspired by this stamp set.

Wonderful Wednesday

Weekly Class

Hi Everyone,

We've made it to the halfway mark of the week. It's time to share my Weekly class projects. On Monday I shared my Memories & More projects and today I'm sharing the Darling Label Punch Box that is wonderful! Both of my projects were inspired by others. It's great to be able to get inspiration from other great designers.

I C.A.S.E'd this project from Peggy Noe. Her card was so cute! I really like how the Lovely Floral Dynamic Embossing folder is shown so well by having the Darling Label punch barely covering. Peggy stamped the punch several times with green cardstock and Grapefruit Grove. She then cut the flowers out and the leaves. I decided to use the leaves thinlits from the Petals and More Thinlits. I then cut off pieces to use as the greenery. The other little trick is that I took some pearls and my Stampin' Blend and colored the pearls to match the Grapefruit Grove color scheme. 

This second card for class was C.A.S.E'd by a fun project by Mary Fish. I used her card as an inspiration for my project. I wanted to highlight the Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper Stack (DSP). I have been creating with this DSP stack so much lately. I really like the Powder Pink Baker's Twine. It has silver wrapped with it. 

Here is the original card that I used for my inspiration. Mary did a fantastic job on this card. I love it. What worked so well for class this week, is that I was able to dive into my scraps bucket for bits and pieces to use for these projects. I wanted to help my class use up their scraps. They always tell me they don't know what to do with them, so this week's class theme is all about the scraps.

Time to Stamp Tuesday

with Paper Players Color Sketch #401

Hi Everyone,

Welcome back to my Time to Stamp Tuesday blog. Today I'm excited to share my project inspired by the Paper Players color challenge for this week. This color challenge was designed by Joanne. If you haven't seen the new In-Colors for 2018-2020, you are in for a treat. 

 

My project highlights all three of the new In-Colors for the design challenge. I have been creating a lot of projects using Lovely Lipstick and Granny Apple Green, so adding Highland Heather is fun. This is also the first time I'm using the Hand Delivered Hostess set in the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog. This set is only available for a minimum party and rewards to the hostess. 

The balloon bouquet was created by stamping a second balloon bouquet to get the overflow of balloons. I also colored my images with the classic ink pads and an aqua painter. I find that coloring directly with the Stampin Write markers can be too deep or harsh, so I love to watercolor. This helps to calm the intensity of the colors on Whisper White CS. You can find lots of projects using the Hand Delivered Set on Pinterest. This is a very popular set. Be sure to go to the Paper Players Blog to see other designs. Memories & More Monday

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to the beginning of the week and joining me for Memories & More Monday. Today it's all about the Stampin' Up! Memories & More Card sets. I've blogged before about how I really never got into scrapbook crafting very well. I had such a hard time with layouts and organization. Stampin' Up! then paired with Becky Higgins and came out with Project Life. Well I was hooked. I could create quick and easy memory books, but what is more exciting now is the Memories & More Card sets because I can combine the best of both worlds memory keeping and card making together. 

The projects I'm sharing today are using the Colorful Seasons Memories & More Pack and the new Memories & More Small Note Cards with Envelopes. These are the perfect sized note cards. The small note cards measure 3" x 4". For my fall card above, I simply used the 3" x " fall card and cut out a header from another card as my saying. Then I simply added some wonderful glitter enamel dots and linen thread. I'd have to say that linen thread should be in everyone's craft supplies.

With the hot weather, this snow card is my favorite. I love the snowflake patterned Memories & More card. I punched out the saying from another card. The adhesive snowflake is so great. The Memories & More packs come with sheets of adhesive shapes.

Stamp Something Saturday

CTS #280 Sketch

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for stopping in today on this stamping Saturday. Today I wanted to share a project I created for the Case This Sketch Challenge (CTS). Each week a template is posted and you can submit your card that was inspired by the sketch. CTS is all about clean and simple stamping. I really like the templates they display. This week, Chrissy Larson designed CTS #280.

This sketch was a fun one to create with. For my project, I used the new Free Cake Stamp set and the Broadway Bound Designer Series Paper. I love the bright colors with Lovely Lipstick and Granny Apple Green. 

Something special is coming to customers in August. It's a new set of Water Color Pencils. They reflect some of the new colors as well as more variety. I can't wait until you are able to get them. Stampin' Up! has the best quality of water color pencils. For the cake, I began with the Stampin' Blends using the light colors of Lovely Lipstick and Granny Apple Green. Then I used the new Water Color Pencils with Granny Apple Green and Flirty Flamingo. I colored lightly and then used a Blender Pen to blend the pencil. Oh, I can't forget the glowing birthday candles. I used the Pineapple Punch Stampin' Blend.

Finding Inspiration Friday
Mini Thank You Notes

Thanks for stopping in today for my Finding Inspiration Friday Blog. Today is a fun day to say "Thanks" to my stamping friends. I was inspired by some Garden Impressions DSP scallop circles that I had laying around. In one of my stamping classes, we used the Layering Circles Framelits to cut out a circle for our project. That left these pieces as scraps. Well there is no such thing as scraps in stamping. I also have been stamping using the new In-Colors and have gotten quite a bit of odd sized pieces. 3" x 3" note cards are the perfect little "Thank You" to pop into a customer's bag. 

This cute note card is made with Pineapple Punch cardstock and the Garden Impressions DSP scallop circle. The saying is from the Hostess Set Very Vintage. This is a great stamp set! A little Artisan Pearls adds a great feature to the note card. 

This project uses Grapefruit Grove as the base of the card. This scallop DSP has a different feel and the base color is perfect for this. I used the Stitched Shapes Framelits for the circles with the saying.

This note card is another version of the one in Grapefruit Grove. It uses the same piece of DSP. Both colors work perfectly. 

Very Vintage stamp set is perfect for creating wonderful projects with an antique or vintage feel. I shared a couple of projects in a past blog in June. 

I hope I have inspired you to take a look at your scraps and see what you can create with them. I found today that the 3" x 3" note card size was perfect for my scallop circle DSP pieces.

Weekly Class Go Go Glossy

Hi Everyone,

Welcome back to my Wonderful Wednesday Blog. Each Wednesday, I share the projects that my customers create at class. This week it's all about Glossy Cardstock. There are so many techniques you can do with glossy cardstock. I usually have 3 projects each week, but since glossy cardstock is so versatile, I added a 4th project.

This first project is a simple stamp onto the glossy cardstock technique. There is nothing fancy, but you have to be careful. Stamps can easily slide on the glossy cardstock since it's so smooth. I used the Healing Hugs stamp set along with with the new Gray Granite and Petal Pink as my coloring palette. 

Another fun thing to do with glossy cardstock is to use your sponge brayer to create a beautiful background to your project. This card was inspired by a recent card I received from Judy Klock.

Project # 3 is a great technique using the Brusho Crystal Colours to create this cloud like background. For this technique, you simply add a bit of Brusho to the glossy cardstock. Then spritz with a bit of water and just allow the Brusho time to disperse and dry. Every piece will have a different look. I did the same technique for the butterflies. After the glossy cardstock was dry, I stamped the butterflies and cut them out. 

You might not recognize this stamp because it is brand new and being released to customers on August 1st. It is called Blended Season and it is wonderful for seasons all year. I was able to purchase this set in July and decided to preview it with my customers. My sample isn't the best in coloring, but I wanted to share it with you. One of the best things about glossy cardstock is how easy it is to color using your Stampin' Blends and Stampin' Write Markers. For this card, I used the new Colors of Stampin' Blends. Poppy Parade and Granny Apple Green create a great holiday feel. The mini Striped Poppy Parade ribbon tops off this card. 

I did discover an interesting thing when creating this card. First I decided to emboss the floral image with black embossing powder. If you do this, you cannot use the Stampin' Blends to color your image. The alcohol from the Blends dissolves the embossing powder and it bleeds into your image. You can still emboss, but then use your Stampin' Write Markers instead. Stampin' Up! has many marvelous coloring tools for lots of techniques. By having a variety of coloring tools, you will never have troubles with your projects.
