Finding Inspiration Friday
Something Old, Something New
Hi Everyone,
I'm so glad you stopped in today. I am finding inspiration as I begin to go through some discontinued Stampin' Up! papers and things. I decided to use some of the retired colors and some new colors for my projects today to see how well they coordinated. I am also using one of my new favorite stamp sets called To a Wild Rose. I'm so excited to share.
This first project was created using the retired color Wisteria Wonder cardstock. I paired this with Gorgeous Grape and Highland Heather. I stamped the background and top piece with Highland Heather. The vanilla ribbon is also retired, and it goes so well. One of the things I love about the To a Wild Rose stamp set is the large and bold sayings. The font is beautiful!
For my next project, I really wanted to show a different way of using the beautiful 3 layer rose. For this card, I used the Sweet Sugarplum retired cardstock and the new 2019-2021 Rococo Rose In-Color and Pear Pizzaz. I didn't use the outline stamp of the rose or the leaf for this project. To get this wash affect and match of the colors, I stamped off my images before stamping onto the card.
One additional thing I did for this project to get a washed affect was to stamp one of the images from Gallery Grunge stamp set. I used Smoky Slate ink and stamped off before stamping all over the front of the card. The look is awesome! I finished the card with a few rhinestone embellishments.
Both of these projects are easy and simple to make. With stamps, inks, and paper, you can create fantastic projects. I hope you go and pull out some of your retired colors and see how you can coordinate with some new colors. Stampin' Up! is known for product coordination, and it's great how you can continue to use something old and something new together for beautiful projects. I'd also suggest getting the To a Wild Rose stamp set and coordinating dies. You can save 10% when purchasing as a bundle.
