Partial Masking Techniques
Hi everyone,
I'm glad you are here today. Recently I had my technique class which was on Partial Masking. My projects were inspired by several items out of the January-June 2020 Mini Catalog by Stampin' Up! The idea of this technique is that everything is covered up except where you want to sponge or stamp.
For this project, I created a mask by die cutting the second largest die from the Stitched Nested Label Die set. Then, using a Stamping Sponge, I used Pretty Peacock, Seaside Spray, and Purple Posy inks to sponge. Next, I used the Positive Thoughts Stamp set and Tuxedo Black Memento ink for the images.
Boy do I wish for a tropical escape! Our weather lately has been quite dreary. For this masking, I used a 2 1/4" circle punch (you could also use the Layering Circles dies) to punch a circle in the middle of a piece of white cardstock. Then, like the first project, I used sponges and some wonderful colors for the sunset. Mango Melody, Grapefruit Grove, and Daffodil Delight inks coordinate with the colors in the Tropical Oasis Designer Series Paper. Isn't that guitar embellishment cute? There are 5 different trinkets in the Tropical Oasis Trinket embellishments.
This project is my favorite one that I created for my partial masking class. I simply used a piece of copy paper for the mask. I started by stamping a few flowers from the Positive Thoughts Stamp set. Then I laid the copy paper over it. Then I carefully tore the copy paper around the flowers. I then kept the right side of the mask down while I sponged the Pear Pizazz ink over the flower area. Then, Using the script stamp from the Fanciful Fragrance Stamp set found in the Annual Catalog, I embossed in Copper Embossing Powder. The saying and die-cuts are from the So Sentimental Bundle in the January-June 2020 Mini Catalog. I love the large sayings in the stamp set and the Stitched So Sweetly dies are fabulous!
